Saturday, August 13, 2011 by poster

With the introduction of the iPhone and the Android series of phones, it seems almost everyone carries a smartphone nowadays. One great feature of smartphones are applications that can be downloaded for various uses. "Apps", as they are known to most people, can be such things as games, workout buddies, and travel tools, just to name a few. There is an app for almost every kind of topic out there. There are also many religious apps that can be very useful. In this article, we will mention some of the useful religious apps I have come across for the iPhone.
For the sake of brevity, and also due to the author's lack of knowledge about other smartphone platforms such as Android and Blackberry, we will only mention iPhone apps. People who know about useful Islamic apps on other platforms can certainly share their knowledge in the comments. Also, many apps are on multiple systems, so some of the apps mentioned here may be on other platforms as well.

Thursday, February 4, 2010 by poster
Question: What qualities do you think a good Muslim youth should have to be successful?

Answer: I [the author - Abdul Adheem al-Muhtadi al-Bahrani] think he or she should possess the following qualities:

1. Sincerely believing in Allah and completely relying on Him

Imam Ali [a] said, ‘Faith rests on four pillars: reliance upon Allah, entrusting one’s affairs to Allah, submission to the will of Allah, and contentment with Allah’s decree.’ [Bihar al-Anwar, v. 78, p. 63, no. 154]

5 Islamic Websites for Children

by poster
Imam Ali [a] said: A child's right over his/her parents is to choose him a good name, to give him the proper upbringing and to teach him the Quran. [Nahj ul-Balaghah, Hikmat, p399]

Imam Ja`far as-Sadiq [a] said: Make haste in teaching your youngsters hadith before they are approached by murji`ite (a misguided sect).

Ever since the media focus on Iraq in 2003, there has been a subsequent increase in the inquisitiveness of the Shi'ite faith. Although, there are quite a number of Shia websites sprouting in response to such curiousity, sadly, there are not many for children or young adults.

Here, I've listed 5 Shia websites for children to learn their faith from, and enjoy their childhood as well.
